Moving house doesn't have to be an emotionally and physically exhausting task. It can be relatively easy and smooth if you are adequately prepared for it. Unfortunately, most people forget simple things which end up complicating the moving process and igniting disagreements with the moving company. Here you will learn a few things that you should take care of before the D-day to simplify the task.
1. Choose the date wisely
How much thought do you put into choosing the moving day? Besides work, school schedules and other commitments, you also need to consider the demand in the moving industry. Ideally, moving services are usually in high demand at the beginning of the month. This means that prices may be high and you may miss your preferred provider. Move during the middle or end of the month to minimise hassles that come with the peak season and save money.
2. Provide details of the move
When hiring a removals company, provide as many details as possible about the task. This will allow you to get an accurate estimate and prevent disagreements with the service provider. For example, inform them if you have large and bulky items like a piano. Let them know if your home is storied and whether you have an elevator. Such details will enable the removalist to equip themselves with the right equipment and be upfront about any extra charges you may incur.
3. Perform an on-site visit
Familiarizing yourself with the removalist and their crew is a great way of simplifying your move on the D-day. Visit the house removals company and get to know the people who will facilitate your transition to the new home. A visit will also allow you to identify the trucks available and choose the ideal size if you hadn't done so. Imagine hiring a company only to find out on the moving day that you need an additional truck to load your items. You will incur extra charges for hiring another vehicle.
4. De-clutter your home
Moving house offers you the perfect opportunity to get rid of unwanted items from your home. Use this opportunity to organise a garage sale, donate things and give some away to neighbours and friends. Alternatively, you can put some items like old furniture and seasonal clothes into storage. Move into your new home with zero clutter.
Find the right moving company to simplify your move and get the much-needed peace of mind. A professional removalist will also you time to tend to your kids and pets since you won't need to be involved in the lifting, loading and offloading.Share

When I decided to become a freelance designer, I decided I would work from home. I was sick and tired of being in an office all day and to be honest, some of my workmates were pretty annoying. However, I did not consider that I might have to make some changes to my home in order to make it suitable. On the first day of my new life working from home, I realised I would need much more natural light, so I had new windows installed. I then realised that I would need a larger work table to work on my cut out designs. In the end, I made hundreds of changes and I learnt an awful lot about home improvement.
